Jan 31, 2005 Br Adnan Siddiqui's new born son passed away Monday afternoon. His funeral prayer was at Islamic Center and burial at Riverview Cemetery led by Imam Shaheed Coovadia on Tuesday February 1, 2005 at 12:30 PM.

Dec 6, 2003 Br Majid Khan's father in law passed away Saturday morning at 10:00 AM. His funeral prayer was at Islamic Center and burial at Greenwood Memorial Gardens led by Imam Shaheed Coovadia on Sunday December 7, 2003 at 1:30 PM. Wrote a Book with Br. Majid Making Connections.

June 20, 2002 Br Akram's Father in Law Br. Mahmood Iqbal died in Chicago after a long illness, he was 70 years old. Br. Mahmood visited Pakistan recently and was in Richmond just six months ago. Please pray for the brother.

May 30, 2002 Br. Syed I. Hyder, Attorney at Law passed away this morning in Houston, Texas. His funeral will be at Woody funeral home 1771 Parham Road and burial at Greenwood Memorial Gardens on Saturday June 1, 2002 at 1:00 PM. More Information.

Apr 24, 2002 Brother Mehmet Fikret Tenir from Turkey died in a local hospital after struggling with cancer, he was about 76 years old. Brother Tenir was buried at Greenwood Memorial Gardens at around 3:30 PM on Friday April 26, 2002. Imam Shaheed Coovadia lead the funeral prayer. Please pray for the brother.

Apr 10, 2002 Brother Riaz Razzak's mother passed away in South Africa. There was a Salaat al-Janaazah (funeral prayer) in absentia at ISGR led by Imam Shaheed Coovadia after Ishaa (9:15 PM). Br. Riaz's mother suffered a strong stroke recently and was in hospital until her death. May Allah (SWT) gave her the place in heaven.

Jan 19, 2002 Br. Mohamed El-Kharashy, 34 died in a car accident. Br. Mohamed just came from Egypt and was on a military training at Fort Lee.
Br. Mohamed's funeral prayer was at about 8:45 PM Tuesday January 22, 2002 Bennett Funeral Home after the Ishaa prayer lead by Imam Shaheed Coovadia. His body was later flown to Egypt.

Apr 08, 2001 Sr. Bushra Qureshi passed away at about 2:00 PM St Mary's Hospital. Sr Bushra was suffering from chronic cancer since 1995. She was reciting Sura Al-Baqarah Chapter 2 just before her death. Sr Bushra breath her last just before Ayah 46
Translation: (They are those) who are certain that they are going to meet their Lord, and that unto Him they are going to return. [Noble Qur'an Sura Buqarah Chap 2].
Sr. Bushra's funeral prayer started at about 1:45 PM Monday April 9, 2001 Bennett Funeral Home after the Zuhr prayer lead by Imam Shaheed Coovadia. She was later buried at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. May Allah (SWT) grant her a place in Jannah.

Feb 14, 2001 Br. Anwar Abdullah's father Br. Riaz-uddin
Saheb died at about 5:00 pm. Br. Riaz was also the father in law of Sr. Samina Abdullah, a very active member of the community. Muslims gathered at Islamic Center on Sunday Feb 18, 2001 to recite Qur'an and make dua for the deceased.

Oct 12, 2000 Br. Aziz Osman's mother passed away in South Africa after a sudden heart attack. Please make dua for her soul.

Aug 09, 2000 Sr. Subha J Bajramovic passed away in a local hospital at 4:10 am. Her funeral prayer was at Islamic Center of Virginia on August 10, followed by burial at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Sister came from Bosnia as a refugee almost a year ago.

Jul 26, 2000 Br. Syed Hyder's father died after a auto accident in Richmond area. His funeral prayer was at Woody funeral home, 1771 Parham Road followed by burial at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

May 16, 2000 Br. Marvin Vines's uncle Franklin Vines passed away in Richmond area. Just three weeks before his death, Br. Franklin accepted Islam. Even with the chronic cancer, he used to attend Friday prayers. May Allah give him the place in Jannah (Heaven)

April 2, 2004 Make dua for Br. Shahid Reza who is in hospital for bypass surgery.

June 27, 2002 Abdul Fattah's condition hasn't changed. He hasn't regained consciousness since last Friday. They cannot close his wound until the swelling goes down. Alhumdulillah, there have been no further complications. They have cleaned his wound several times in an effort to get his temperature and blood pressure stable. Insha Allah, they will be able to close him up today.

Due to his critical condition, family still request not to visit Br. Fatah at the hospital. Please make dua for him.

June 20, 2002 Br. Abdul Fatah is in hospital recovering from gun shot. According to Richmond Police on "6/20/02 11:23 PM [at] 2032 Chamberlayne Avenue Unknown suspect(s) shot a black male. Injuries are not life threatening."
Br. Abdul Fatah is a Hafiz-ul-Qur'an and have given Friday Khutbah at ISGR, have lead Taraweeh prayer at Islamic Center for many years. Due to his critical condition, family is asking everyone not to visit Br. Fatah at the hospital. Please make dua for his early recovery.
