IN RESPONSE TO YOUR INQUIRY,THERE ARE A FEW KEY POINTS I NEED TO MAKE. FIRST, THE US GOVT DOES NOT HAVE A DIALOGUE WITH MUSLIMS PER SE,ONLY WITH POLITICAL ENTITIES WITHIN MUSLIM COUNTRIES. SECOND, TERRORIST ACTIVITIES ARE POLITICAL TOOLS TO BRING ABOUT POLITICAL ENDS. THIRD,ISLAM DOES NOT RECOGNIZE TERRORISM AS A LEGITIMATE METHOD OF WARFARE, AND SUICIDE IS FORBIDDEN. LEGITIMATE MUSLIM SCHOLARS HAVE RE-AFFIRMED THIS FACT.
SO ISLAM HAS NEVER PROMOTED VIOLENCE AND TERROISM.
HOWEVER, POLITICAL LEADERS WHO USE THE RELIGION FOR POLITICAL ENDS HAVE PROMOTED VIOLENCE AS A MEANS TO CHANGE SOCIAL INJUSTICE AND OPPRESSION.
THIS IS OF COURSE IS NEVER AN EXCUSE FOR FOR VIOLENCE AGAINST INNOCENT PEOPLE.
THE US GOVERNMENT HAS LOST THE TRUST OF THE MILLIONS OF MUSLIMS WORLDWIDE OVER TIME. THE US GOVT HAS HAD 50+ YEARS TO HELP RESOLVE THE OPPRESSION OF THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE AND HAVE DONE NOTHING. YET, OUR FORCES HAVE SUPPOSEDLY FREED THE AFGHANS, AND ARE NOW SUPPOSEDLY LIBERATING IRAQIS. BUT, OUR GOVT WILL BE APPOINTING ANOTHER LAP DOG AND DICTATOR TO DO THE US GOVT'S WILL IN THE REGION.THIS IS THE WAY WE OPERATE. THE FOUNDING FATHERS WOULD SPIN IN THEIR GRAVES IF THEY WITNESSED THE OPPRESSION THE US GOVT HAS DISHED OUT OVER THE LAST CENTURY.
HOWEVER, THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE THAT ALL PEOPLE WILL EXPERIENCE DEMOCRACY AND FREEDOM. THESE ARE ISLAMIC IDEALS SET FORTH 1400 YEARS AGO. UNFORTUNATELY THE ERA OF COLONIALISM IS STILL ALIVE AND IT MAY BE A LONG TIME BEFORE THE MUSLIMS ARE FREE OF OPPRESSION THAT EXIST UNDER THEIR BRUTAL SECULAR REGIMES(MOST SUPPORTED BY US TAX DOLLARS). AMERICA REPRESENTS MANY WONDERFUL THINGS AND IT IS A SHAME THAT WE HAVE SUCH A ROTTEN IMAGE. MOST FORIEGNERS RELISH THE THOUGHT OF COMING HERE TO WORK,LIVE AND TO RAISE FAMILIES.
THE US GOVT SHOULD REPRESENT JUSTICE AND FREEDOM FROM OPPRESSION, AND IT IS UP TO US AS CITIZENS TO BE VIGILANT THAT NO ONE IS OPPRESSED BY OUR SYSTEM.
FORTUNATELY WE HAVE NOT HAD TOO MANY ACTS OF DISCRIMNATION HERE IN RICHMOND,VA. JUST A FEW IGNORANT MESSAGES FROM IGNORANT PEOPLE. SUPRISINGLY MOST OF THE MESSAGES WE RECIEVED SINCE 9/11 TILL PRESENT HAVE BEEN THOSE OF SUPPORT. OUR JEWISH AND CHRISITIAN FRIENDS HAVE BEEN LOVING AND SUPPORTIVE.

Dear Brother and Sister.
I do agree with Bro. Ibrahim that we as muslim should not and can not be silent no more. If we claim our self to be muslim then we have work for the peace and justice for the sake of Allah because that what Islam is all about.
Let us all start to think what can we do to stop this madness and to make dua' that Allah Subhannahu wa Taalla will protect the innocent and the weak from a new Tyrant imposed by US government. |

War against Iraq is part of the US Govt. political
game. When the Republican Party needs an issue to help in election results they turn Americans' attention to the so called "War on Terror" and weapons of mass destruction in the hands of the so called Adolf Hitler of the Middle East: Saddam Hussien.
President Clinton also embarked on sporadic military involvement when domestic issues such as Monica Lewinsky,etc. reared their ugly heads.

Other than US politics, there is another ugly dimension to the ugly situation throughout the Middle East.
How did Saddam get his ability to produce weapons of mass destruction?? That is correct,,Uncle Sam,AKA: United States of America.
Who built the terrorist training basis in Afghanistan? Right again, the US govt.
Who abandoned the Afghani people when they needed so much help? Right, the US govt.
Why has the Chechen War of Independence lost US Government support?
Why have the Communist/Russian supported Northern Alliance been allowed to take over Afghanistan?
OIL!!!! OIL!!!! OIL!!!!
The Russian retain the Oil fields of the Caucuses, and the US retains influence and control in the Middle East and Central Asia.
This will be accomplished through puppet regimes, like the one we have had in Saddam Hussien for almost thirty years.
The US govt. also stopped critizing the Russians for atrocities in Chechnya, when it was clear we needed support for the War on Terror. Also, we are not pressuring the Israeli government to finalize the peace process, and end the fifty years of occupation and genocide against the Palestinian people. The US government is also not showing the slightest interest in Kashmir.
Innocent people will continue to suffer and die on both sides until the US Government comes to terms with the word "JUSTICE." But I do not expect the ugliness to end anytime soon. The American people are in ignorance and darkness, spoon fed garbage by the American News(?)Media.
Forget the politicians, and petitions, we need to get the attention of the average American,and explain what is really happening. Rallies, marches,and peacful demonstrations will do more to awaken American sense of justice,than begging a corrupt government. When the politicians fear their political clout and influence is being lost,they will alter their course. Allah Willing. |

Now, every one in the cabinet is talking about war against Iraq...We muslims have to stand against that war...NO ONE agrees or supports Saddam who fought his own people with chemical weapons in 1988..NO ONE agrees with Saddam who fought Iran in a purpossless war over 8 years from 1980-1988, and then attacked Kuwait in 1990..We do consider Saddam one of the major problems in the current Arabic and Islamic history over the last 3 decades...But...the war against Iraq is something different...destruction and humiliation of our poor and diseased Iraqi fellows is something we have to oppose..we have to sign the petition to stop war against Iraq, and do our best otherwise.. |
